Turkey got the 80-75 win over Germany by getting an early head start and making on more step towards the second phase. On the contrary the game of Germany against Italy will be a do or die contest for the group hosts

Turkey got the 80-75 win over Germany by getting an early head start and making on more step towards the second phase. On the contrary the game of Germany against Italy will be a do or die contest for the group hosts.

The game started with a 13-2 run for Turkey, which led by 20 points at the end of the first quarter (31-11). Germany was trailing for the whole game, tried to get back into it, cut the lead 7 points with two minutes to go (73-66) but that was the best it could do. Ilyasova (15 p., 4 r.) was great on both ends of the court, Bobby Dixon had 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 asists, Semih Erden dominated the paint (16 p., 9 r.) and Cedi Osman had also a good game (17 p., 5 r.).

On the other hand Dennis Schroder exploded for 24 points and 6 rebounds, while Dirk Nowitzki (15 p., 5 reb.) and Robin Benzing (13 p.) tried their best.
