Serbia was unstoppable again and beat Turkey 72-91 in Berlin, behind Milos Teodosic’s impressive double-double (17 points, 13 assists), coming one step closer to claim the first place in Group B.

Miroslav Raduljica was the top scorer for Serbia with 20 points and six rebounds, while Ali Muhammed had 16 points and four assists for Turkey, with four more players in double figures for Ergin Ataman’s team.

“I think we had a very serious approach defensively speaking, we were very focused on that end and the players did a great job. I give credit to my players for the win, it is the most important until now and until the next one,” said Sasa Djordjevic, coach of Serbia.

With a 21-5 run in the first quarter, the Serbians took a 16-point advantage (10-26, 14-30) and never looked back. They retained the lead in double digits until the end of the first half (35-53) and although Turkey outscored their opponents 24-18 in the third quarter and cut the deficit to twelve points (59-71), Djordjevic’s squad remained solid and earned an easy victory.

“I think that in yesterday’s game we spent a lot of energy, we finished the game almost at 8pm and in the morning after breakfast we had to come to play this game. Congrats to Serbia, who is a very good team and one of the favourites to win this EuroBasket,” Ataman said afterwards, as all options are still open for the final classification in Group B.
