Greek national team captain Nikos Zisis in the last practice before the big quarterfinal game against Spain, clarified that the point is to win in order to go to the medal round. Also, even if Pau Gasol is the cornerstone of Spain, every other member of the Spanish team can also make a difference.
As he said: “First of all we have to clarify something. We dodn’t consider the game against Spain as a chance for revenge, but as a chance for us to return to the medal round. I consider defense and rebounds the keys of the game. That’s how we can control the tempo, get the game where we want to and if we manage to do than, then correct decisions and big shots in the offense, will came”.
Speaking about Pau Gasol’s great tournament he added: “He is their most important player. Their offense so far is depended on him. We want to make things hard for him. We want to make him work on both sides of the court. We know he will score and he will help his team. We need to just contain him. However Spain is not only Gasol. The got many top class players who can make a differense. We are ready and we want to do something more”.
