Greece was seconds away from getting back to FIBA EuroBasket by beating Czechia on the road, but the hosts managed to force overtime. However, Vassilis Spanoulis still got the job done.
Led by Vasileios Toliopoulos’ 26 points and Ioannis Papapetrou’s 23 points, the Greek national team pulled off the 93-89 thrilling victory. With Great Britain beating the Netherlands 73-69 on the road, both the British side and Czechia also got to EuroBasket.
Georgia had the same fate, winning 62-60 over Denmark with a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds by Tornike Shengelia to officially make their way for FIBA EuroBasket 2025.
In Group E, two teams (France and Bosnia) officially qualified for the competition, eliminating Croatia from contention for the first time in history. Cyprus was already qualified as a co-host.
Estonia also celebrated a huge victory at home, beating North Macedonia 84-65 also thanks to Maik-Kalev Kotsar’s 16 points and 9 rebounds, to book their ticket for the competition.
Nenad Dimitrijevic (20 points) and TJ Shorts (21 points and 6 assists) weren’t enough. In the same group, Poland lost 82-48 at home against Lithuania, but the result was meaningless as both teams were already qualified, one as co-hosts and the other booking their spot in November.
Both Serbia and Finland were already qualified, but the World Cup runner-ups were dragged by Filip Petrusev’s 34-point night, which extended their winning streak to five games.
Earlier in the night, Ukraine lost their fifth consecutive game in the 2025 EuroBasket Qualifiers, suffering the 84-71 road defeat to the already-qualified Slovenia.
This result led to both Ukraine being eliminated and Portugal qualifying for EuroBasket after 11 years of wait. In the same group, later on the night, Israel beat the Portuguese national team 84-78.
