Giannis Antetokounmpo has once again expressed his intention to represent Greece at EuroBasket 2025, provided he’s fully fit.
Speaking during a public event where he was named Greece’s Recycling Ambassador, the NBA superstar briefly touched on his national team plans.
“If I’m healthy, I’ll definitely be there,” Giannis said. “I don’t even know what I’ll eat tonight, so I can’t think that far ahead to August,” he added with a smile, when asked about his participation.
The Milwaukee Bucks forward attended a ceremony at Greece’s 1st Environmental Education and Recycling Park, where he emphasized the importance of passing on values like sustainability. “I try to teach my kids how important recycling is—not just them, but all children in Greece, young and old.”
When asked about Greek basketball and national character, Antetokounmpo didn’t hesitate to express his pride: “It’s in our culture to strive for more. I’ve traveled the world, and I’ve never seen a culture like Greece’s—always giving 100%.”
If healthy, Antetokounmpo is expected to join the Greek national team next summer as it competes for EuroBasket glory.
