AS Monaco guard Jordan Loyd is close to becoming a naturalized player for the Polish national team for the 2025 EuroBasket according to Eurohoops sources.

Loyd was reported to have applied for a Polish passport back in February. If he joins the Polish side, as expected, he will make his debut with a national team in major international competitions.

In 2024-25, Loyd averaged 9.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 20:48 minutes over 33 EuroLeague appearances as Monaco made the championship game for the first time in the history of the club. The 31-year-old guard and former NBA champion in 2019 has been playing in EuroLeague over the last six years.

Poland will host Group D of the EuroBasket Preliminary round, facing France, Slovenia, Belgium, Israel and Iceland.

Eurohoops has also learned that New Taipei CTBC DEA guard Daron “Fatts” Russel will receive Romanian passport to join the national team. He had 17.0 points, 4.6 assists and 2.8 rebounds last season with Pinar Karsiyaka in the Basketball Champions League.
