Thanasis Antetokounmpo has been called up to join the Greek national team’s training camp for EuroBasket 2025.
The 33-year-old forward replaces Neoklis Avdalas and returns to the squad after recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon, which had sidelined him since May 2024.
Antetokounmpo last played for Greece at the 2023 FIBA World Cup, where he appeared in four games and averaged 3.8 points and 3 rebounds per contest.
With his addition, head coach Vassilis Spanoulis now has 19 players available for the training camp, including Giannis and Kostas Antetokounmpo. Spanulis will eventually need to trim the roster to 12 for the final tournament lineup.
Greece is placed in Group C at EuroBasket, which will be played in Limassol, Cyprus. The team will face Italy (August 28, 21:30), Cyprus (August 30, 18:15), Georgia (August 31, 15:00), Bosnia and Herzegovina (September 2, 15:00), and Spain (September 4, 21:30).
