Giannis Antetokounmpo will be the big absence of the ECOMMBX Cup, a prep tournament which will be held in Cyprus this weekend.

Greece is scheduled to play against Serbia and Israel. Nikola Jokic is included in the roster of the Olympic bronze medalists, but the possible matchup against Giannis is postponed for the upcoming Eurobasket, if the two teams cross paths.

The absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo has been officially announced by the Greek federation.

To be exact, Giannis and the injured duo of Vassilis Toliopoulos and Louisville big man Vaggelis Zougris stayed in Athens to do individual training, and on Monday, they are expected to join team practices.

Greek national team coach Vassilis Spanoulis has already said on Tuesday that Giannis Antetokounmpo is following his personal training program; however, there’s no concern about his participation in Eurobasket 2025.

Without Giannis, opened its preparation games by beating Belgium.
