Despite Luka Doncic’s absence, Slovenia put up quite the fight vs. mighty Germany

Dennis Schroder had 18 points plus six assists and Franz Wagner scored 17 as Germany beat Slovenia 80 – 70 in a EuroBasket preparation game that took place in Manheim.

The game also served as a rematch of the clash between the two sides in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Isaac Bonga added 14 for Germany that closed the game with a 12-0 run over the last 3:22 minutes to get the win. Gregor Hrovat (15 points, five assists) and Aleksej Nikolic (12 points, four assiss) stood out from Slovenia.

Despite Luka Doncic’s absence, Slovenia was more than competitive, leading 60 – 67 with 6:58 to play. Schroder then scored eight unanswered points and Germany played some strong defense down the stretch to emerge victorious.
