On the road to hosting the most anticipated event of the summer at home in Tampere, Finland continues on its hot streak at the friendly game stage.
After already destroying Belgium a few days ago by beating them 105-62, this time Lassi Tuovi’s team still found the win but prevailed by 18 points, concluding at 92-74.
Once again, Lauri Markkanen was the clear protagonist for the Finnish national team, proving to be in one of his most impressive physical forms of the past few years.
Today, the dominant center put up 31 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals, finishing with a 39 of PIR. In the previous meeting with Belgium, Markkanen erupted for a national-team career high of 48 points.
Finland is set to be one of EuroBasket’s four hosts, alongside Latvia, Poland, and Cyprus. They will welcome Germany, Great Britain, Lithuania, Montenegro, and Sweden in Group B.
