The love and affection shown by the Italian passionate supporters in the national team is reaching the highest peaks, and it was displayed once again tonight in Bologna.
In front of a sold-out PalaDozza, Gianmarco Pozzecco’s team extended its friendly-game winning streak to 4-0, taking down Argentina 84-72.
Simone Fontecchio (19 points and 3 steals) and Baskonia‘s newest point guard Matteo Spagnolo (18 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists) were the main protagonists

This game marked the debut of Darius Thompson with Italy as well; on Argentina’s side, Jaumpi Vaulet and Gonzalo Corbalan combined for 29 points.
Italy will play in Group C at FIBA EuroBasket 2025 alongside co-hosts Cyprus, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Spain, and Greece.
Argentina, on the other hand, is set to play at the FIBA AmeriCup 2025, drawn into Group C alongside hosts Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and Colombia.
