Vincent Poirier is a key member of France’s new roster, and with Gobert, Wembanyama, and Lessort out, Efes‘ center is crucial to France’s Eurobasket rotation.
However, as the French federation announced, Poirier is feeling discomfort in his right knee and will be examined.
Plus, according to the major French sports newspaper “L’Equipe”, Poirier is bound to miss the tournament.
The veteran big man competed in the game against Spain last Thursday in Badalona, but it’s more than likely he won’t play in the second prep game between the two teams in Paris (16/8). The French organization confirms that he is experiencing discomfort in his right knee and that it’s best to be cautious.
Zaccharie Risacher will also not play in the second game against Spain for “cautionary reasons”; however, the biggest concern remains Poirier.
