Coming off his first-ever professional Championship, Danilo Gallinari has joined the Italian national team’s training camp ahead of FIBA EuroBasket 2025.
For one player who’s arriving, there are two who were cut by Gianmarco Pozzecco. Yesterday, Luca Severini left the team, while today Stefano Tonut’s absence was announced.
Olimpia Milano‘s guard won’t be available in the competition due to a muscle strain in the medial gastrocnemius of his right leg.
Grazie, Tonno! 💙
Stefano Tonut è stato autorizzato a lasciare il raduno.

“Stefano is an example of dedication and attachment to the National Team jersey. After Bologna, he wanted at all costs to stay with us to try to recover in time for EuroBasket,” Pozzecco said.
“His willpower is moving, but the timing is cruel. Unfortunately, he is forced to give up on this dream of his, and with great regret, we too are forced to give him up. We are sincerely sorry,” he added.
Debuting for Italy in 2016, Stefano Tonut has been part of his national team’s recent appointments, pretty much playing for his country every summer.
