Eurobasket is over for Bogdan Bogdanovic, according to a report by Meridian Sport, which was officially confirmed a few hours later.
The captain of the Serbian national team was waiting for the verdict of the Clippers’ medical team after the injury sustained in the game against Portugal.
However, further medical exams revealed a tear in Bogdanovic’s hamstring, and this injury means the end of the Eurobasket for him.
Per the official press release: “Bogdanović has been diagnosed with a ruptured hamstring muscle, which will prevent him from playing in the remainder of the European Championship. In agreement with Bogdan’s club, the Los Angeles Clippers, the captain will undergo intensive therapy in the United States in the coming period to recover as quickly as possible.
Stefan Jović will wear the captain’s armband for the remainder of the championship”.
A longtime member of the team, Bogdanovic has won a silver and a bronze medal in the Olympics, two silver medals in the World Cup, and one Eurobasket silver.
If Serbia wins, he will finally secure the gold, even as a spectator, and this can be a huge motivator for the rest of the team.
