Naturalized guard Jordan Loyd, with 27 points and big plays down the stretch, was the star of Poland’s 66-64 win over Israel.

On the other side, Israel’s naturalized guard Khadeen Carrington added 10 points, which were not enough for the win, and Hapoel Jerusalem’s outspoken owner Ofer Yannay didn’t let this slip.

According to Yannay, Jordan Loyd, Baskonia‘s Markus Howard, and Fenerbahce‘s Devon Hall were also offered to the Israeli federation, but the choice with Carrington.

Yannay asks “why,” implying that this move was made in favor of Hapoel Jerusalem, giving Israeli status to Carrington and him being able to compete without restrictions in the local league.

Hapoel Jerusalem’s owner Matan Adelson, whose family also owns the Dallas Mavericks, rarely uses social media but did defend his player on X, leaving an innuendo.

“The Israeli National Team is fortunate to have Khadeen wearing the jersey. He is a phenomenal basketball player, a true professional, and the ultimate teammate. Above all, he is a person of integrity, strong values, and high character, unlike others…”
