Riga, Latvia – After the tense Eurobasket game against Serbia and with Turkey getting the win, Ergin Ataman was in a light mood at the end of the press conference and remembered the NBA preferences of Panathinaikos owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos.
Giannakopoulos even used his social media to write to Jokic, inviting him to join the Greek EuroLeague powerhouse.
Coach Ataman, who is also the head coach of Panathinaikos, finished the English part of his press conference with a smile, saying: “You know who is the favorite player of Giannakopoulos, it’s Jokic, he has said it many times. If he watched the game, I hope he changed his opinion and he will start thinking about Sengun”.
You can’t go wrong with any of those players, after all, as it was proven also in a game to remember.
Alperen Sengun led Ergin Ataman’s team with 28 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists for a PIR of 37, while on the other side, Nikola Jokic had 22 points, nine rebounds, and four assists for a PIR of 31.
