Riga, Latvia – Poland will face Turkey in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Eurobasket after beating Bosnia and Herzegovina 80-72 in the Round of 16.

Led by naturalized guard Jordan Loyd with 28 points and Mateusz Ponitka adding a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, this tandem proved better than the losing side.

Bosnia also got 19 points from naturalized guard John Roberson before getting injured, and Jusuf Nurkic had 20 points and seven rebounds.

As coach Aziz Bekir admitted: “We didn’t have the guy who is actually the scorer in our team, Roberson, and the chemistry in offense was absolutely changed”.

It was a valiant effort for the Bosnian side, which lost Dzanan Musa due to injury before the start of the tournament and a lot of its firepower, but still got a big win over Greece in the group stage.

On the other side, Poland, which finished fourth in the previous Eurobasket after beating Luka Doncic’s Slovenia in the quarterfinals, will need a similar upset against unbeaten Turkey, which features Alperen Sengun.
