Riga, Latvia – Coming out of a double-double in the Semifinals of EuroBasket 2025, Dennis Schroder talked about Germany taking down Finland and the pending opponent in the Final.

“I just read the game,” he commented on combining game-highs of 26 points and 12 assists in Xiaomi Arena.

“I shoot a lot of threes right now. I should go to the basket sometimes, but at the end of the day, just run, put my teammates in position to succeed. Franz [Wagner], in particular, in the first five, six minutes of the game, and then Andy Obst and a lot of those other guys too, but just reading the game and trying to make the best decision possible.”

Progressing to the gold-medal game for the first time since a losing display opposite Greece in 2005, the reigning world champions will either rematch Greece or face Turkiye on Sunday.

“We came here for something, and it doesn’t matter who we play,” the Braunschweig native and Sacramento Kings player in the NBA responded to a question about taking on the winner of the second Semifinal between the teams coached by Vassilis Spanoulis and Ergin Ataman, set to tip off later Friday, “Both are great teams. It’s gonna be a dogfight in the Final. We will just try to come out on top.”

Over eight appearances across an undefeated run between Tampere and Riga, the candidate for the Most Valuable Player award has averaged 20.9 points and 6.6 assists per contest.
