Riga, Latvia – “This is Greek fashion,” was the immediate reaction of Tyler Dorsey following a narrow win for Greece over Finland in the third-place fixture of EuroBasket 2025.

The lead peaked at 17 points with just over four minutes on the clock, but was reduced to one point in the final seconds.

“We can’t finish the game smoothly, I guess, but this was so special,” explained the 29-year-old guard on winning a bronze medal with Greece, “I’ve been having this goal in mind for four years. I started with the national team, and it’s amazing to get the first medal.”

“It means a lot,“ he added, “It’s an amazing feeling. I’m gonna cherish this for the rest of my life.”

With four seconds remaining in the fourth period, Giannis Antetokounmpo made 2/2 free throws to eventually seal victory for the team coached by Vassilis Spanoulis.

“Yeah, I did,” Dorsey replied to a question about whether he trusted the Freak on the charity stripe, “I was praying too.”

After his nine points in the first period paved the way for retaining a double-digit lead for most of the 40 minutes, the former Oregon standout tallied a total of 20 points with 7/12 field goals, including 5/9 from beyond the arc. He finished with 12.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.1 blocks per contest over eight appearances between Limassol and Riga.

“We got World Cup and Olympics coming in the next couple of years,” Dorsey also shared eagerness to continue representing Greece in FIBA tournaments.
