The last day of the 2025 EuroBasket and the clashes for the gold and bronze medal attracted massive attention by fans around Europe as pretty impressive viewership numbers being registered.

In Turkey, the Final between the “12 Giant Men” and Germany became the fourth popular sport event in the country through 2025. More specifically, this historic clash drew a viewership of 18.2 million as the country was witnessing the first EuroBasket gold-medal game of the national team in 25 years. Out of this huge number, 15.6 million watched the match on TV and 2.6 million experienced the Final by streaming it on digital platforms.

Germany became EuroBasket champion for the first time after 1993 and 5.675 million people in the country watched the game live. The majority of 3.89 million preferred RTL channel while 1.785 million picked Magenta channel.

Seven out of 10 people that were watching television in Greece while the third-place game was played, tuned in and watched the winning efforts of their national team toward claiming the bronze medal. This is an immense percentage of a 70 percent television audience share that translates into 2.75 million viewers.

As for Finland, the total reach through the Nelonen network was 1.694 million for an average of 863,000. Quite the number considering that A) This is a country of 5.6 million population and B) While basketball’s popularity is constantly rising in Finland, it’s not even among the five most popular sports.
