Slovenia claimed the FIBA U20 EuroBasket title for the third time in its history after defeating Serbia 84-65 in the final on home soil.
The hosts gradually took control of the contest before pulling away in the second half to lift their first U20 European crown since 2004, adding to the titles they had previously won in 2000 and 2004.
Vit Hrabar led the champions with 18 points, while five Slovenian players finished in double figures in a balanced team performance.
Slovenian guard Mark Padjen was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player after averaging 15.7 points, 5.6 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game. He was selected to the All-Star Five alongside teammate Urban Kroflic, Serbia’s Nikola Džepina, Spain’s Raul Villar, and France’s Mohamed Diakite.
Spain defeated France 65-54 in the third-place game to secure the bronze medal, recording its best finish since winning the title in 2022.
Meanwhile, Iceland, Ukraine, and Sweden earned promotion from Division B and secured places in next summer’s Division A tournament. They replaced Czechia, Belgium, and Romania, who were relegated after finishing in the bottom three.
