In the second “friendly” rematch of Eurobasket 2011 between France and Spain, the champions despite being the guests got the 85-84 win in Montpellier thanks to bucket by Marc Gasol after an assist by Sergio Rodriguez. NBA defensive player of the year Gasol had a great game with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists against Spurs Tony Parker who scored 29 points but missed the last shot of the game, a three pointer and the chance to win.
Also on Monday, an other preparation game for the upcoming Eurobasket was played with Israel losing at home also by a point to Georgia 74-73 as Ricky Hickman and Viktor Sanikidze made two clutch shots in the end.
