In total, ten different countries have won a medal in the last 20 years of Eurobasket history. Eurohoops chronicles not only their successes, but also everything they have done, good or bad, in the last two decades

Every team has ups and downs. Everybody speaks about the great Serbia, the great Spain and the great Russia, but forget the years during the powerhouses of the European basketball have stayed away of the podium. Eurohoops.net remembers not only the successes of the biggest teams in Europe, but also their consistency the last two decades.

As starting point we consider Eurobasket 1993, the tournament in which for the first time Yugoslavia and USSR have given their place to new countries. With the exception of Serbia, which was denied the right to compete, every other new country could fight for the title. Since then, in total only ten countries have won at least one medal.

However, we have also to measure consistency. So you have to admire the fact that Spain has won six medals in the last seven tournaments and they have also finished fourth in 2005. Serbia has also won five medals, but only one in the last five tournaments. The traditional power with the biggest drought in recent years is Italy, which have won its last medal ten years ago and missed the tournament twice (2007, 2011). So here are the tables of the medals and also the place in which each team that won at least one medal, have finished in the last 20 years.
