Giorgi Shermadini posted a double-double of 20 points/13 rebounds (also three assists) as Georgia beat Latvia 73 – 69 in a prep game that took place in Klaipeda, Lithuania.

For Latvia (that is without NBA-ers Kristaps Porzingis and David Bertans), Dairis Bertans scored a game-high 23 points, grabbed six rebounds and served five assists to his teammates.

The winning squad came back from a 39-33 halftime deficit thanks to some solid defense that allowed them a 55 – 52 lead entering the fourth quarter.

Tornike Shengelia added 14 points and six rebounds while George Tsintsadze had 12 for a Georgian national team that has yet to integrate 2017 NBA champion Zaza Pachulia in its roster.

From Latvia’s side, Kristaps Janicenoks was the only other player apart from Bertans to score in double-figures, finishing with 11 points.
