After the 78-75 win, the winner of the game between Slovenia and France will finish on the top spot of the group standings, while Poland needs to beat Greece in their last game for the group phase in order to squeeze in the last moment to the plane for Istanbul.

After a 20-13 start for Poland, France was trailing until the last seven minutes of the game when they first got the lead and built a 68-62 lead with five minutes left. Poland tied the game at 69 with three minutes left, but France closed it the right way. And that brings us to the man who did it.

The star: In a bad game for France, Thomas Heurtel at least scored and finished with 23 points and 6 assists. He sealed the result with a big three, giving to France a 75-69 lead with 46 seconds left. What else was left to do?

The last chance: Poland lost a close game against Finland that could have altered their fate. However, even if they had beaten France, few things would change in the importance of tomorrow’s game against Greece. This is going to be their last chance, no matter the result of the game Greece versus Finland.

Captain Adam Waczynski led a balanced effort for his team with 15 points, Poland did well against a team which is considered medal contender, however, at this point, the only thing that counts is a victory. That’s why A.J.Slaughter was not used in this game in order to be 100% ready for the game against Greece.
