The game everyone was waiting for turned into a one-sided offensive show for Slovenia which cruised over France with a 95-78 victory and eventually grabbed the No. 1 seed in Group A. France will finally finish at the No. 3 spot in Group A and will face off Germany in the next round.

The game started with both teams making tough shots, and showcasing their offensive weapons. Slovenia, however, went on a run between the first and second quarter and got a 17-point lead at the half (52-35). In the second half, they increased their lead even more. The third quarter ended 77-51, a 26 (!) point lead for Slovenia. The game was over for the French side after that.

The star: Goran Dragic was the star of the game. Since early on, he showed his leadership skills and his οffensive repertoire. He finished with 22 points and 8 assists. Luka Doncic was also exciting to watch and was effective for his team with his 15 points and 9 rebounds.

The key: Slovenia’s offense especially in the first half, the 17 point lead at the half and Igor Kokoskov’s exceptional coaching were the main reasons why Slovenia came out on top.

Not enough: Nanto De Colo for France scored 16 points but it wasn’t enough. Evan Fournier scored 11 points for the losing side, but was ejected from the game; Boris Diaw added 13 points and 5 rebounds.
