Messina considers the game really tough: “Serbia is certainly the strongest team we have faced in this competition”.

“We are confident but we must not make the mistake to daydream. If we think we can play against them face-to-face we run the risk of ending up like Juventus in the last Champions League final against Real Madrid“, the coach joked.

He recognizes the opponents’ big assets: “Serbia has two players, Bogdanovic and Marjanovic, who can move heavily; we will have to stand with our feet on the ground and face them. Finding the right spaces and moving the ball well will be two key aspects in the 40 minutes”.

“It’s an important game, and when you happen to play this kind of racing you are never quite happy. Even if you have the perfect game plan, then you have to interpret it at best. I’m curious to know how we will be presented at this appointment. That being said, they are not invincible, of course. If the playoffs were in a best-0f-five series, I would give Serbia a slight advantage”.
