Brescia outlasted a tough battle against EWE Baskets to grab its second victory in the Top 16 round.

Germani Brescia Leonessa prevailed over visiting EWE Baskets Oldenburg with a 70-67 victory in Round 3 of 7DAYS EuroCup’s Top 16. The Italian team sealed its second victory and sits on top of the group’s standings with 2-1 along with Reyer Venice.

Kenneth Horton paced the winning side with a team-high performance of 17 points, four rebounds, three assists, while on the other end of the court Rickey Paulding posted 18 points and three rebounds for the German side.

The visitors controlled the pace of the game in the first half, leading 42-34 after 20 minutes of action, though Brescia reacted in the third quarter, keeping them to as low as 8 points and regained advantage with 51-50 after 30 minutes.

Horton played a key role for the hosts in the final period, and despite a three-pointer by Tyler Larson that made it once again a two-point game with 14 seconds to go, Brescia was able to seal this important victory.

Earlier in Round 3, Reyer Venice grabbed a narrow 70-68 victory over Promitheas.
