Unicaja Malaga guard Jaime Fernandez underwent successful surgery to repair persistent injuries on both his feet, the Spanish club announced. The player’s recovery is expected to take around six months.
Fernandez averaged 9.1 points and 4.6 assists in 20:15 minutes in EuroCup, along with 10,3 points, 4.0 assists, and 2.4 rebounds in 21:30 minutes in the Spanish ACB League prior to the suspension of both competitions.
Malaga had advanced to the EuroCup playoffs and is eligible to participate in Liga Endesa’s planned 12-team tournament for the completion of 2019-2020.
