A few days after returning to Serbia and launching his attempt to get Partizan back on track, Andrea Trinchieri discussed the current situation in the 7DAYS EuroCup and the ABA League with Partizan TV. Both competitions remain suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“EuroCup, EuroLeague, and ABA League are all international competitions. Different situations for every country,” pointed out the 51-year-old Italian head coach, “It will not be easy getting everything together.”

Partizan advanced to the EuroCup playoffs before action was halted. In addition, the Serbian outlet led ABA thanks to a 17-4 record.

“We are working and preparing while waiting for someone to tell us how, what, why, and where,” said Trinchieri commenting on the remaining uncertainty regarding the conclusion of the 2019-20 season.

“In the USA, the situation remains very difficult. Everyone is locked down. Players are training at home,” he added referring to players remaining away from the team.

Euroleague Basketball is expected to make a ruling on the remaining 2019-20 games by next week. Trinchieri is patiently awaiting developments keeping in mind the possibility of instead focusing on the 2020-21 season.

“I am only interested to learn when we can resume playing, to prepare the team accordingly,” he mentioned, “Maybe it’s better to prepare for the next season. This won’t be easy.”
