Maccabi Rishon LeZion announced Thursday that uncertainty generated from the coronavirus pandemic forces the team to withdraw from the 2020-21 edition of 7DAYS EuroCup.

The press release indicates scheduling, travel, logistics, and other issues as the main factors behind the Israeli team’s decision. Therefore, Maccabi canceled its participation in the upcoming EuroCup season scheduled to launch in a couple of weeks.

Upon initially completing its registration, the 2016 Israeli league champions were drawn in Group B alongside Unicaja Malaga, Buducnost VOLI, Germani Brescia, ratiopharm Ulm, and Metropolitans 92.

Mornar Bar was officially named its replacement team shortly after the announcement.
