Nanterre 92 announced Wednesday that Victor Wembanyama will be out for about eight weeks with a stress fracture.

Wembanyama, 16, NBA draft-eligible in 2023, has made his way to six games with the senior squad this season, including four appearances in the 7DAYS EuroCup. The promising youngster also posted a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double and blocked seven shots in the early-season Jeep Elite Pro A win over Le Havre.

However, forced to the sidelines for the next two months will keep him out of the ANGT Tournament scheduled to be held in Valencia in late December.

The French outlet has already clinched a EuroCup Top 16 berth through its 4-4 run so far in Group D. At the domestic level, Nanterre is ranked sixth on a 3-2 record.
