Knock-out games can provide all short of shocks and that’s exactly what happened in Badalona. Ratiopharm Ulm beat Joventut on the road (79-73) behind a stellar performance by Jaron Blossomgame (photo) and Semaj Christon who scored 21 points each.

That was the end of the 7DAYS EuroCup season for Joventut Badalona, which had the best regular-season record but couldn’t avoid being the victim of a huge upset as Ulm made it to the quarterfinals.

Derek Willis with 17 points was the top scorer of the hosts, who made just seven threes in 35 attempts.

On the contrary, Olimpija Cedevita had everything under control on the way to the 93-80 win over  Turk Telekom at Arena Stozice in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Local talent made the difference, as Jaka Blazic led the winners with 20 points and Alen Omic added 15 and 16 rebounds. JaJuan Johnson scored 16 for the losing side.

Cedevita remains the hottest team in the competition, extending its winning streak to nine games and reaching the quarterfinals for the first time in club history.

MoraBanc Andorra had a much more difficult task against Buducnost VOLI after trailing for the whole first half.

Still, the hosts got the 72-64 and the qualification with Clevin Hannah having 21 points in a low-scoring affair. Codi Miller-McIntyre added 12 crucial points for the winners.

Dennis Seeley (25 p.), Petar Popovic (11 p.), and Marko Jagodic-Kuridza (11 p.) tried their best for the losing side, but it was not enough.
