After Τurk Telekom and Promitheas last night and the duo of Paris and Gran Canaria from last week, Prometey, Hapoel Tel Aviv, and Buducnost also made it to the 7DAYS EuroCup playoffs.

Behind 24 points by DJ Kennedy, Prometey (photo) got the big 95-90 win over Joventut Badalona, climbing to the top of Group A standings being the only team with nine wins, securing practically a playoffs birth, unless Cluj wins all five remaining games plus beating them by 24 points.

The hosts led from wire to wire and closed the third period with a 15-point advantage (72-57). The guests however scored 33 points in the last 10 minutes and they trailed by one (86-85) entering the last two minutes, but Prometey closed the game the right way.

Buducnost beat the London Liones with Erick Green scoring 16 points on the way to the final 78-68. Sam Dekker tried his best with 27 points but it was not enough for the English side.

Hapoel also got the job done by beating Trento on the road 78-60, being the sixth team that has already secured the playoffs in Group B. Chinanu Onuaku with 22 points and 8 rebounds was a one-man front line as Hapoel dominated the second half with a partial score 41-20.

Ulm also got a big win over Bursasport (92-86) with Bruno Caboclo scoring 33 points.

The Germans got to their 8th win, but in Group A that’s not enough yet for securing a spot in the playoffs.

Gran Canaria was absolutely sensational to defeat Paris Basketball 118 – 99 at home in another statement performance. This was the highest-scoring game for the Spanish team this season.

David Mutaf (22 points) and Olek Balcerowski (20 points) led the Gran Canaria efforts. Overall, his team had 31 assists 27-43 2-pointers and 15-30 triples to provide a show for the fans in Las Palmas. Aamir Simms had 22 points for Paris while Michael Roll scored 17 and dished out five assists in his season debut in EuroCup.

After five straight defeats, Cedevita Olimpija beat Reyer Venezia 77 – 73 to stay alive in playoff contention. Yogi Ferrell had 20 points plus seven assists for the winning squad.
