JL Bourg reached the Semifinals of the BKT EuroCup for the first time in team history.

A win, 95-82, against Prometey in Ekinox clinched a berth in the next round on Tuesday.

Opening the schedule of the Quarterfinals, Bourg built a safe separation outscoring the visitors by 34 to 13 in the third quarter.

Isiaha Mike and Jeremy Morgan shared a team-high 17 points. JeQuan Lewis piled up 12 points, seven assists, four rebounds, and three steals. With seven out of his nine points in the third period, 22-year-old Kevin Kokila was among the standouts in the dominating stretch.

On to a best-of-three series for a spot in the best-of-three Finals, the French club will take on the winner of the matchup between Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv and Besiktas Emlakjet. The next opponent will be decided in Vilnius’ Avia Solutions Group Arena on Wednesday.

The team coached by Ronen Ginzburg never led in Bourg-en-Bresse. Failing to deliver a response in the third period, the deficit grew to 22 points. The remaining efforts did not threaten the hosts nor slow down the party across the stands.

Ondrej Balvin posted a 19-point, 14-rebound double-double and D.J. Kennedy exited early in the fourth quarter with ten points, 11 rebounds, and five assists. Issuf Sanon sat out along with long-term injured Arnoldas Kulboka.

Defending the Paf Latvian–Estonian Basketball League championship, Prometey sitting second behind a 22-4 record in the 2023-24 Regular Season shapes the focus following the conclusion of the continental campaign.
