Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv’s owner, Ofer Yannay, openly stated that he is ready to pay $5M per season to sign Vasilije Micic.
According to the Israeli outlet Sport5, there seems to be more to the story, as Micic reportedly made a call to Yannay and the team’s head coach, Dimitris Itoudis.
Hapoel Tel Aviv defeated Turk Telekom and advanced to the BKT EuroCup semifinals. According to Sport5, “the team’s coach, Dimitris Itoudis, and Ofer Yannay received a surprising phone call from Vasilije Micić, who spoke to them and congratulated them on qualifying, amid the club’s desire to sign him when he decides to return to Europe.”
As Eurohoops previously reported, Micić is open to a return to Europe. Currently, he is part of the Phoenix Suns in the NBA but has made only one short appearance since being traded from the Charlotte Hornets in February.
