After only one season in Lithuania, Alessandro Magro won’t continue being the head coach of BC Wolves Vilnius, the club announced in a press release.

“On behalf of the club, I want to thank Coach Alessandro – a great professional and person – for his work throughout the past season,” the club’s sports director, Donatas Zavackas, commented.

During his first and only season with the freshly-born team, the Italian head coach helped them progress for the first time to the BKT EuroCup Playoffs – losing in the Eight-Finals to U-BT Cluj-Napoca.

However, the results weren’t as successful in the Lithuanian League, where BC Wolves Vilnius couldn’t progress through the LKL Quarter-Finals, losing 2-0 to BC Jonava.

“We took a step forward as an organization by reaching the EuroCup Round of 16, but the way the season ended wasn’t what we had hoped for. We’ve decided that it’s time to take a different direction going forward. We wish Alessandro the best of luck and success in his future career,” Zavackas added.

Prior to his move to Lithuania, Alessandro Magro experienced a successful three-year coaching tenure with Brescia, winning the club’s first-ever trophy in 2023 by lifting the Italian Cup.
