Yonatan Alon will continue as the head coach of Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem through the 2025-26 season.

The Israeli club confirmed the extension of their partnership on Thursday.

“We went through a long and intense season and maintained the club’s spirit in the difficult and good moments,” the 44-year-old tactician recapped the 2024-25 campaign stretching from the BKT EuroCup to domestic competitions, “We managed to connect the fans to our path and peak at some big moments.”

“I am happy to continue as coach of Hapoel Jerusalem next season and believe that we are in a very healthy process with excellent continuity,” he added, moving to the challenges of the 2025-26 journey, “We will try to strengthen in the right places, we have work to finish.”

After starting his coaching career with youth teams of Hapoel Jerusalem, serving as assistant coach at the senior squad from 2009 to 2011, and from 2018 to 2021, he was named general manager before the 2023-24 season and went on to become head coach, replacing Ilias Kantzouris late in the 2023-24 journey. Shifting focus to the 2025-26 season, the Jerusalem outfit is expected to feature once more in the second tier of Euroleague Basketball.

Elsewhere, Umana Reyer Venice announced the addition of 29-year-old Giovanni De Nicolao, a veteran of five seasons in Italy’s LBA UnipolSai and projected newcomer in the EuroCup.

“I can’t wait to start working with my new teammates and the coaching staff,” mentioned the Italian point guard.
