Kenan Sipahi will continue playing for Bahcesehir Koleji through the 2025-26 season, as announced by the team based in Istanbul on Sunday.
Returning to the BKT EuroCup for a third campaign in the second tier of EuroLeague Basketball and a 15th season in the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi, the 30-year-old point guard already moved his talents to Bahcesehir midway through the 2024-25 journey, after parting ways with Karsiyaka. He went on to average 6.1 points, 4.1 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 0.9 steals per EuroCup contest, helping his side reach the Semifinals. In the BSL, he tallied 9.1 points, 4.9 assists, 2.3 rebounds, and 0.7 steals per game.
Even before retaining the experienced Turkish floor general, the Turkish club has been busy over recent weeks, adding Malachi Flynn and re-signing captain Tyler Cavanaugh, in addition to naming Marko Barac as the new head coach and successor of Dejan Radonjic.
Iverson Molinar joins Cluj-Napoca
After extending the contract of Patrick Richard, fellow EuroCup outfit U-BT Cluj-Napoca added to the roster for the next season on Sunday with Panamanian Iverson Molinar.
The 25-year-old combo guard navigated two G League seasons and moved overseas to play in Israel over the 2024-25 season, since coming out of Mississippi State in 2022. From 18.7 points, 4.6 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 0.8 steals, and 0.2 blocks per game with Hapoel Altshuler Shaham Be’er Sheva/Dimona in the Winner League, the next overseas challenge is in Romania.
Elsewhere in the EuroCup pack, 29-year-old Jakub Niziol inked a two-year contract extension, the Polish team announced on Friday, after Ainars Bagatskis was announced as the new head coach on Tuesday.
