Alex Antetokounmpo is expected to leave Aris Betsson. After staying on the bench in Round 1 of the 2025-26 BKT EuroCup Regular Season on Tuesday, the youngest brother of Giannis, Thanasis, and Kostas logged two minutes and missed his only shot in Round 1 of Greece’s Stoiximan GBL Regular Season on Saturday. Upon completing his departure from the team coached by Bogdan Karaicic, he is expected to resurface in the G League.
In earlier experience in the North American league comprising of affiliates of NBA teams, he played for the Raptors 905 in the 2021-22 season and the Wisconsin Herd in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons. Back in Europe since 2024, the 24-year-old combo forward featured in Lithuania with M-Basket-Delamode, in Montenegro with Podgorica, and in Greece with PAOK mateco, before signing with Aris in August. On the opposite side of the Thessaloniki rivalry, he made his way to eight games of the 2024-25 edition of FIBA Europe Cup, helping his side reach the Finals with 2.0 points per contest.
Meanwhile, 28-year-old center Nikos Okekuoyen will join team practices, looking to earn a permanent spot on the Aris roster and thus possibly introduce himself to the EuroCup.
Starting the Regular Season in the second tier of Euroleague Basketball with a win against Umana Reyer Venice in Palasport Taliercio, the Greek club plays host to Veolia Towers Hamburg in Round 2 on Wednesday. In contrast, a loss to Karditsa Iaponiki shaped a 0-1 record in the domestic league.
