DJ Stewart’s outstanding performance helped Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana secure an 84-99 comeback win over Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem, earning him MVP honors for BKT EuroCup Regular Season Round 2 with a PIR of 41.
Stewart scored 27 points on 7-of-9 two-point shooting, added 2-of-4 from three, was perfect on seven free throws, and contributed 8 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and drew six fouls. In his 37 previous EuroCup games with Cedevita, his highest PIR had been 23.
Runner-up Fatts Russell of U-BT Cluj-Napoca recorded a PIR of 38 in a 102-107 road win at Neptunas Klaipeda, scoring 37 points with 7-of-13 from three, 8-of-9 free throws, five assists, to steals, and 14 fouls drawn, tying a EuroCup single-game record.
Marko Simonovic (Turk Telekom Ankara) posted a PIR of 33 with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Jaylen Hands, DeVante Jones, and Skylar Mays each had a PIR of 29.
Other individual highlights included Russell leading in scoring (37 points), Zacharie Perrin topping rebounds (14), Markel Starks dishing 11 assists, Dogus Ozdemiroglu recording six steals, and Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu, Jakob Forester, and Amedeo Tessitori sharing a Round 2 blocks high of three. Several players—Marko Simonovic, Zacharie Perrin, Trevion Williams, and Nathan Mensah—also recorded double-doubles.
