After the talks with coaches Gianmarco Pozzecco and Aleksandar Dzikic, Panionios decided to trust a Greek coach who has a history with the club.
Per Eurohoops sources, Ilias Zouros has a deal with the team, which is expected to be announced soon.
Zouros started his coaching career in 1989 in the junior team of Panionios and was also an assistant in the senior team.
Last year, he worked for the Lebanese club Sagesse SC, while his career includes being on the bench of Olympiacos (2000-02) and then in Near East (2004), Aris (2005), Paris (2006-07), Panellinios (2007-10), Zalgiris (2011, 2013), Efes (2012), Tofas (2014-15), Budućnost (2016-17), Peristeri (2019), Promitheas (2021-22), AEK (2024), and also the Greek and the Georgian national team.
