Trifunovic joined Maccabi last summer after a strong season with Turkish side Tofas. However, the former Partizan player and Serbian national team member has featured in just one EuroLeague game this season, spending three minutes on the court against Anadolu Efes.
As a result, he is set to leave the team, opening a spot for Lundberg, while reuniting with former teammate Jaleen Smith in Ankara to compete again in the Turkish championship and the EuroCup.
Elsewhere in the second tier of Euroleague Basketball on Saturday, 32-year-old Stedmon Lemon signed with Panionios Cosmorama Travel.
