Reinforcing the squad, Aris Betsson announced the addition of Michalis Tsairelis on Tuesday.
The 37-year-old Greek forward/center penned a contract for the remainder of the 2025-26 season, to start his third stint at the team based in Thessaloniki.
A two-time Greek League champion and former international player with Greece at the junior and senior levels, returns to the BKT EuroCup, following 45 appearances in the second tier of Euroleague Basketball, including 19 with Aris. During a long career nearing the completion of a second decade, he also featured in seven EuroLeague games, 58 Basketball Champions League games, and three FIBA Europe Cup games.

A youth product of Apollon Kalamarias, Tsairelis turned professional at Aris in 2007. Staying until 2012, the initial run included loan assignments at AEL and Trikala. Between 2012 and 2014, he suited up for PAOK, continued with Iberostar Tenerife in the 2014-15 season, and switched to Olympiacos for the 2015-16 season, before his first reunion with Aris, which lasted between 2016 and 2018. Promitheas, Ifaistos Limnou, Iraklis, Peristeri, PAOK, and Kolossos were his teams over the next seven years.
Entering an international break, dedicated to the launch of the FIBA World Cup 2027 Qualifiers around the world, the team coached by Igor Milicic sits 4-4 in Group A of the EuroCup Regular Season, tied with three more teams at the bottom end of the seeds leading to the Eighthfinals. Domestically, a 3-5 W-L tally describes the start in Greece’s Stoximan GBL Regular Season.
