Bahçeşehir and Nemanja Bjelica have officially parted ways, with both sides confirming the decision through statements.
The Istanbul club announced that it has ended its cooperation with Bjelica, who joined Bahçeşehir in April 2024 as Sports Director. In its statement, the club expressed gratitude for his contribution during his tenure.
“We have parted ways with our Sports Director, Nemanja Bjelica, who joined our club in April 2024. We would like to thank Nemanja Bjelica for his valuable contributions to our club and Turkish basketball, and wish him all the best in the next chapter of his career,” the club said.
Shortly after the announcement, Bjelica also addressed the decision, explaining that personal and family reasons led him to step down from his role.
“After careful consideration, I have decided to step down from my role as Sports Director, effective immediately. This decision has been made for personal and family reasons. At this stage of my life, it is essential for me to prioritize being close to my children and to dedicate my full attention to them,” Bjelica stated.
The former Serbian international went on to thank the club and everyone he worked with during his time in Istanbul.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the club, the players, the coaching staff, and the entire organization for the trust, professionalism, and collaboration shown during my time in this role. I am proud of the work we have accomplished together and confident in the club’s direction moving forward. I wish Bahçeşehir continued success,” Bjelica added.
Bjelica’s departure marks the end of a brief chapter at Bahçeşehir, with the club expected to announce further organizational updates in due course.
