JL Bourg won the BKT EuroCup after defeating Besiktas in the second game of the finals, this time on their home court, with a score of 73-71.

The duel in France was decided after an incredible drama, with the game-winning and trophy-clinching basket scored by Adam Mokoka, a second before the end of the match.

In this way, JL Bourg secured themselves a ticket to the EuroLeague next season, and the elite competition could theoretically have up to four teams from France.

Kevin Kokila was outstanding with 18 points, but in the end, Adam Mokoka stole the show. The best player from the first game was brilliant in the second as well, ultimately scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, most of which came in the final moments. On the other side, Jonah Mathews had 18 points, Ante Zizic scored 14 with eight rebounds, while Brynton Lemar added 13.

Another clash between the two teams was played with a low score, and JL Bourg celebrated once again. It seemed that the host might have an easier path to victory, but Besiktas managed to tie the game in a crazy finish with points from Lemar and Mathews. However, 16 seconds remained, which was enough for Mokoka. He took responsibility and, after a drive, with a second to go, delighted his team.

JL Bourg has a place in the EuroLeague next year, which is a fantastic achievement for Frederic Fauthoux’s team.
