The BKT EuroCup is already heating up ahead of the new 2026–27 season, including Hapoel Midtown Jerusalem securing a massive victory off the court by finalizing a three-year contract extension with their star guard and back-to-back Most Valuable Player of the league, Jared Harper. The deal was announced on Wednesday.
Since arriving in the summer of 2024, the 28-year-old playmaker has developed into the undisputed leader and most recognizable face of the organization. His spectacular performances over the past two seasons earned him consecutive MVP awards, stretching beyond the second tier of Euroleague Basketball to consecutive nods in Israel’s Winner League as well.
“I am excited and proud to extend my contract at the club that has become a true home and family for me. From the first moment I felt a special connection here,” Harper reflected on his decision to remain with the team until the end of the 2028–29 season, expressing his deep connection to the Jerusalem outfit. “I am happy to continue wearing the Hapoel jersey and playing for our amazing and unique fans. I look forward to the upcoming season and the next three years, and I pledge to continue giving my all every day and in every game, to help the team achieve the high goals it has set for itself. I believe that together we can achieve even greater achievements and experience more unforgettable moments.”

Meanwhile, the Niners Chemnitz are actively building a competitive EuroCup roster by adding power to their frontcourt. The German club announced the signing of 26-year-old center Nighael Ceaser on a deal through 2027.
“I chose the Niners because, after my discussions with coach Rodrigo Pastore, I’m convinced that I’m a great fit for his system. In addition, many players have already taken the next step in their careers in Chemnitz, and I’m looking forward to playing for the fantastic fans,” he welcomed his move from U-BT Cluj-Napoca, where he helped guide his previous side to last year’s Quarterfinals.
