Maxima Roma announced the signing of American forward Matt Ryan for the 2026–27 season.
Ryan, 29, brings NBA and EuroLeague experience to Roma’s new project following the arrival of Xavier Moon. Known for his perimeter shooting, he made 82 NBA regular-season appearances with the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans and New York Knicks, converting 40.2% of his three-point attempts.
The American forward moved overseas in November 2025 to join Dubai Basketball, competing in the ABA League and EuroLeague.
Ryan was also selected to represent the United States in the Americas qualifiers for the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup. His arrival gives Maxima Roma another experienced option as the club builds its roster for the new season.
