Rigas Zelli has reinforced their squad by signing 26-year-old forward Ody Oguama.
The deal was announced on Monday.
This roster adjustment followed a knee injury to Isaac Johnson, who will remain out for the next few weeks.
As a newcomer to the BKT EuroCup, Oguama joins a lineup that includes Janis Berzins, Klavs Cavars, Kristians Feierbergs, Gustavs Kampuss, Kristers Kikusts, Ritvars Nikolajevs, Tony Perkins, Ben Shungu, Toms Skuja, Rolands Sulcs, Tomas Talcis, Ivan Tkachenko, Martynas Varnas, and Tyler Wahl. Head coach Rokas Kondratavicius intends to blend him in quickly as the squad targets its upcoming fixtures in the 2026–27 schedule.
The Riga-based club currently holds a balanced 2–2 record in Group A of the EuroCup Regular Season, heading to for Wednesday’s game against Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos at Coliseum Burgos.
Oguama arrived in Latvia, completed his medical examinations, and participated his first practice session on Monday. Therefore, he is on track to make his debut against Burgos.
“I am looking forward to joining the team and getting to know my new teammates, coaches and fans. I am ready to help the team in any way possible to win,” the Raleigh native welcomed the opportunity upon his arrival at the Latvian capital.
The addition provides needed depth to the rotation while Johnson recovers, giving the coaching staff another option on the floor. With the season progressing quickly, the management hopes this transition will keep the team steady during a demanding stretch.
Launching his professional career in 2024, following NCAA stints with Cincinnati and Wake Forest, Oguama has played in Poland and Czechia.
