Partizan and AEK decided to leave Eurocup, Hapoel Jerusalem remained in the competition after the decision of the Israeli basketball federation (IBBA) judge and in the justification of his verdict things are quite interesting.

According to the text  the decision was based on FIBA statements which are included on the complaint to the European Commission against Euroleague. FIBA states that “it will not impose sanctions directly on clubs, leagues or members of their federation and FIBA is not threatening or imposing sanctions on clubs who join Euroleague”.

According to the judge, appointed by the federation, “FIBA complies with the principle that members of the basketball community are entitled to have the freedom to choose among competions”.

The decision can be appealed by FIBA and here you can see the full IBBA decision on Hapoel Jerusalem in Hebrew.
